Here's a roundup of headlines from other local and regional media.

Here’s what other regional news organizations are reporting:

  • Workforce Grant: BridgeValley Community and Technical College will receive more than $250,000 in federal funds to train infrastructure workers. The funds are part of the West Virginia Advanced Highway Training Program, which aims to address labor shortages in highway construction and infrastructure. BridgeValley has campuses in South Charleston and Montgomery. (WOWK)

  • Restaurant Opens: A new restaurant has opened at 700 Virginia Street East in Charleston. Haystax offers customizable breakfast and lunch bowls, as well as cinnamon rolls, desserts, and beverages including coffee, fruit teas, and fountain drinks. The menu includes both vegan and gluten-free options. Haystax is open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday. (WCHS)

  • Auditorium Update: The Charleston Municipal Auditorium remains unused as city officials continue to discuss the building’s future. The Municipal Auditorium Committee will meet sometime in May, WSAZ reports, but officials have not yet set a date for the meeting. Officials will consider two options for the building’s facade — preserve it as a free-standing structure or incorporate it into a new auditorium — with cost estimates ranging from $1.5 million to $5 million, depending on the option chosen.
