Charleston voters will decide the city's leadership in the Nov. 3 general election, with the mayor's office, 20 City Council ward seats and six at-large seats on the ballot.

Democratic Mayor Amy Shuler Goodwin is seeking another term against Republican Brian Hunt. The race for City Council's six at-large seats features 11 candidates, including five Democratic incumbents: Caitlin Cook, Emmett Pepper, Jennifer Pharr, Patrick Salango and Shawn Taylor.

Most ward races are uncontested, but voters in four wards have a choice between candidates. In Ward 8, Democrat Malyka Knapp-Smith faces Republican Linda Suson. In Ward 12, Democratic incumbent Joseph Jenkins faces Republican Ernest Blevins. In Ward 17, Democratic incumbent Bruce King faces independent Elizabeth Grogg, while Democrat James Elam and Republican Jennifer Smith are competing for the Ward 18 seat.

Democrats Ben Adams and Matt Smith are running unopposed for city treasurer and municipal judge, respectively.

Early voting runs from Wednesday, Oct. 21, through Saturday, Oct. 31. Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 3.
