Kanawha County voters can now get an advance look at the races and contests they will see when they cast their ballots in the Nov. 3 general election.
The West Virginia Secretary of State’s Office released a sample ballot lookup tool on Tuesday, giving voters an online way to view their individual sample ballots before Election Day.
Voters can enter their first and last names, date of birth and home county to see a list of contests that will appear on their official ballots. The sample ballot can also be printed, allowing voters to review their choices before heading to the polls.
“The sample ballot lookup tool is a resource that helps prepare voters for Election Day,” Secretary of State Kris Warner said in a release. “Reviewing your sample ballot in advance can help you feel more confident and prepared when you enter the polls.”
The Secretary of State’s Office also provides an online option to review sample ballots from all 55 West Virginia counties.
The release of the ballots comes ahead of several key election deadlines. Oct. 13 is the deadline to register to vote or update voter registration information.
Early in-person voting begins Oct. 21 and continues through Oct. 31. The general election is Nov. 3.
