BridgeValley Community and Technical College will host its 2026 STEAM Academy from Monday, July 20, through Friday, July 24, on the college's South Charleston campus.

The academy is open to rising fifth- through eighth-grade students and is supported by the Kanawha Valley Mining Institute and Toyota Motor Manufacturing West Virginia.

During the week, students will take part in hands-on activities in science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics, also known as STEAM.

The academy will include interactive experiments, creative design projects, engineering challenges, technology demonstrations and group activities. The program aims to build curiosity, creativity, critical thinking and teamwork while introducing students to STEAM education and future career opportunities.

The academy will run from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. Activities will take place in Building 2000 and the Advanced Technology Center on BridgeValley's South Charleston campus. The day camp costs $173.23 per participant. Scholarships are available on a first come, first serve basis. Light snacks are provided, and lunch is available for an additional fee.
