Kanawha County voters handed Democrats all three seats on the County Commission on Tuesday, electing Paul Monroe over Republican Jared Page in one of the night's most consequential local races.

Elsewhere, voters delivered a mix of continuity and change. Charleston Mayor Amy Goodwin easily won another term, Chesapeake Mayor Melissa Hill lost her reelection bid by a wide margin, and Democrat Adam Strider defeated Republican Nick Munoz for South Charleston municipal judge.

Voters also approved the renewal of two property tax levies supporting Kanawha County's public schools and libraries.

All 183 Kanawha County precincts had reported by 10 p.m., with 48,729 ballots cast — a turnout of 40.27%. Results remain unofficial pending certification.
