Industry Day will highlight Phase 3 plans and upcoming construction opportunities.

G

eneral contractors, construction managers and specialty contractors can get an early look at the next phase of development at Yeager Airport.

Airport officials announced an Industry Day open house highlighting Phase 3 of the CRW Next program, which focuses on continued infrastructure upgrades and long-term growth at the airport.

The event is scheduled for Friday, May 22, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Embassy Suites, 300 Court St. in downtown Charleston.

Attendees will receive updates on terminal plans, hear insights from the project’s design team, and learn about upcoming Design-Bid-Build and Construction Manager at Risk opportunities tied to the project.

Organizers said the event will allow contractors to connect directly with project leaders and better understand future development opportunities at the airport.

Airport officials say the CRW Next program's aim is to enhance the passenger experience while positioning Yeager Airport for future growth.

CRW Next Phase 3 marks the third stage of the terminal development project at West Virginia International Yeager Airport. The phase focuses on modernizing post-security areas, including a new, larger TSA checkpoint, updated seating and gate areas, and new concession spaces. Officials said the upgrades will enhance the passenger experience and accommodate higher passenger volumes with a more comfortable layout.

The project’s first phase included the renovation of lobby restrooms and the installation of a second baggage belt, according to Yeager Airport’s website. Crews have completed that phase.

Phase 2 is underway and includes pre-security and curbside renovations. This phase will include the installation of new ticket counters, digital signage, improved lighting, updated finishes and new flooring throughout the main lobby.

In February, state and local officials announced they had secured $25 million in federal funds to support the the terminal modernization project. Officials said federal dollars will support a new state-of-the-art TSA security checkpoint, upgrades to post-security holding spaces, modernized restrooms and updated restaurant and concession areas.
